Black Orchid & Margery Allingham

I have received the following query from Alison Jacobs.

I'm also a member of the Margery Allingham Society and another member has suggested that there's a link between her work and "Black Orchid". I've not heard that suggested before, though in some ways it is more like her stuff than Agatha Christie's who is usually mentioned. I wondered if you could put a query out to see if anyone can make a firm connection.
