Christmas Special Overnight Ratings

The overnight ratings for Doctor Who in the UK on Christmas Day were 5.8 million, representing 29.4% of the audience. Doctor Who held its own against other shows on TV scoring similar results to 'Call the Midwife', 'Coronation Street' and others. It also beat the Christmas Day edition of 'EastEnders'. Overall Doctor Who was number 7 for the day, although the top ten were all close together. (The top rated show Downton Abbey achieved 6.9 million).
